Help out a great organization that helps address issues of domestic violence here in New York City. Park Slope Parents works with FJC to get needed items to the folks they serve.

Family Justice Center

The Family Justice Center (FJC) provides information and services for domestic violence victims in one location. Clients may walk in and choose which services they want, including counseling, advocacy, meeting with a prosecutor, shelter and housing help, and legal information - all while their children play safely in the next room. This FJC is designed to help Brooklyn domestic violence victims. Professionals from a wide range of community based organizations, faith-based organizations, and government agencies provide services at the FJC.  The FJC opened in July of 2005, and since then has served over 5,500 adult victims of domestic violence, and over 1,200 children have used the Margaret’s Place children’s room.   More information at www.nyc.gov/domesticviolence.
