    Review: The program was a great. My son is learning so much and has gained a level of skill in a short time that really surprised me. The way things are taught has been really effective, and the kids have a big say in what they're working on. The performances are so much fun to attend! Skills learned: guitar playing

    Location: Gowanus REVIEW: Very welcoming and accommodating. They have a great space for the kids. When you walk-in, there's a large stage with live music and the kids usually play all sorts of games while listening to music. Our child became a much more confident kid and we credit the instructors for creating a positive atmosphere and encouraging the kids to express themselves.     Location: 495 Carroll St, Brooklyn, NY 11215 REVIEW: We loved Brooklyn Music Factory! All the camp counselors were upbeat, incredibly friendly and creative, and truly followed the kids' lead when it came to developing their own music. Our daughter appreciated the small groups (i.e. "bands") and also took daily piano lessons with an unbelievably talented instructor who sent us videos of their progress. 10/10 would recommend!     REVIEW: Love how BMF gets kids to really engage with music. Rather than just practicing reading and playing sheet music, the kids have the opportunity to explore different instruments (JamBand) learn about music from around the world and are writing their own songs. The teachers are great at connecting with kids and have a lot of patience, good sense of humor and are always curious to see what the kids come up with. Jam sessions in the community room are a highlight (kids get to jump in and out of them before or after their class) Skills learned: playing the piano and drums, songwriting, team building Age of child: 8 years

    REVIEW: This has been a great program! Our daughter has a lot of fun- the teacher is excellent at making piano lessons fun with a curriculum based around stories instead of just memorizing notes. It’s especially fun that before and after class there is always a big open jam session with all kinds of instruments and includes teachers, adults, and kids of all ages. What would you change? It would be great if they offered after school pickup - this is one that we have to bring her to ourselves. Age of child: 6 years old

    Brooklyn music factory on Carroll. We don’t take lessons there but we do the mini camps they hold throughout the year and my son really enjoys it. Great introduction to different instruments.

    Location: 495 Carroll St, Brooklyn, NY 11215 How old was your child when they attended camp this summer? 4 years, 6 years (two children) Review: My kids loved camp! The staff and teachers are a delight. They are all so nice to the kids and they make everyone feel excited about making music and comfortable on the stage. Every Friday afternoon they have a livestream in which they perform their original songs, and it is so adorable and inspiring! Whether your kids have some musical experience already or not, the teachers are prepared to help everyone learn, grow, and have fun! We will definitely be going back! Would you like to add anything related to COVID and how the camp handled it? They require COVID vaccination for 5-year-olds and up.

    Location: Gowanus How old was your child when they attended camp this summer? Entering Kindergarten/ almost 5 Review: We did this camp for a week at the end of summer and it was absolutely perfect for my music-loving kid. He was excited to go, and got to try guitar, keyboard, singing and songwriting with the group. They also have regular play and art times. Groups were small, teachers were all super nice, they got outside every day when it wasn’t raining, and they were very flexible with aftercare. We will do this camp again for school breaks and 1-2 weeks in summer. Would you like to add anything related to COVID and how the camp handled it? Required vaccinations for all campers 5+
