- Affordable summer campsWe have loved Kids in the Game (park slope location), a great, active all-around camp with everything from swimming to lots of park fun and craft, and consistently excellent counselors, staff and leadership that return year after year. I appreciate that there are great discounts for signing up for multiple weeks, early, and siblings, so you can save a lot by taking advantage of all of that.
- Review from the 2024 Summer Camp SurveyLocation: Park slope REVIEW: My son loved this camp! Lots of crafts and games, and he even went on his first field trip. He was excited to go every day! My only objection was the “video game” theme week - as much as my son loved it I don’t necessarily think we need more encouragement in that direction. But the most important thing is that he was happy and engaged every day. We’ll likely send him back next summer. CHANGES: Video game theme week was not my favorite (but it was my son’s!) - Review from the 2024 Summer Camp SurveyLocation: Park Slope REVIEW: Our child seemed to enjoy the camp although he's at a young age where he also doesn't mind just staying home all summer with us! I appreciated that most of the camp coaches had good energy upon drop off in mornings and greeted most kids by name upon arrival. I liked that there was daily routine/activities/themes and field trips 1x a week that my child seemed to enjoy. Big plus that they had optional open swim time 1x a week at nearby swimming center and for a little extra cost you could sign up for private swim lessons (which gave my child a lot of confidence to start swimming without floaties). Also since KITG works with public schools during the year for after school programs I believe all employees are DOE vetted if that gives you more peace of mind. - Review from the 2024 Summer Camp SurveyLocation: Park slope location at St Savior Academy REVIEW: Kids in the Game is a really nice, all around camp. They swim once a week and go on trips. The staff who greet the kids in the morning are so nice and learn everyone’s name immediately. My kids enjoyed the Fun theme weeks like Pokémon. They also liked doing activities like tie dye and making ice cream. CHANGES: DETAILS: Age of child; Older kid is 10, younger child is 8 … Weeks attended: 2
- Camp shout-out: Kids in the GameWhether you're still looking for a week or two of camp this summer or already thinking ahead to next summer, I just wanted to share what a good experience Kids in the Game has been for our family. This is the second year my two younger kids are attending their Park Slope location (6th Street off 8th Ave), and I was really pleased by how many of the coaches and staff are back from last year - they all gave my kids huge warm welcomes. In fact, they seem to be great at picking really caring, warm, enthusiastic, generally excellent coaches. They do a variety of traditional camp activities, a mix of fun indoor and outdoor games, scavenger hunts, crafts, field trips, and weekly swimming (optional) with Imagine Swimming, also excellent. My kids come home tired - in the best possible way - and they sleep so well. They've made good friends and are happy to go each day. We ended up with Kids in the Game last year because another parent recommended it. There are so many options out there (and with 3 kids I've experienced many of them), and I feel really good about them so I wanted to add my recommendation to the mix.

- Review from the 2022 Summer Camp SurveyLocation: 588 6th Street How old was your child when they attended camp this summer? 4 Review: We had an overall positive experience during my son's two weeks at Kids in the Game. The staff seemed kind and he was always happy to go without any complaints, which is a good measure of his overall engagement. It seemed like he had a pretty active day most days. What would you change about the program, if anything, and why? I never actually saw the classroom where the kids spend a lot of the day and there's not a ton of feedback from staff on what goes on all day long. There's also a different theme each week, which mostly seems irrelevant for the younger kids, but that's not communicated. Only got one picture over two weeks, too. Would you like to add anything related to COVID and how the camp handled it? There's really no COVID protocols in place, which I guess isn't terribly surprising in 2022. We still prefer my son wear a KN95 indoors as he had yet to complete his COVID vaccine schedule, but he almost always emerged from the upstairs classrooms at the end of the day without one, or with it in his backpack. Again, that's 2022 for you, I suppose.
- Review from the 2022 Summer Camp SurveyLocation: St Savior High school How old was your child when they attended camp this summer? 10 Review: The caMp was ok but nothing special. The kids mostly hung out at the school. There were various activities every week but somehow it was not very fun. They sit a lot in the classrooms and sometimes they play games in the gym. Kids get rewarded with icepops if they “listen”/behave or win a game, otherwise, no icepop. There was swimming once or twice a week which was fun. All in all the coaches were not very caring or excited to be there. What would you change about the program, if anything, and why? More trips to the park, Would you like to add anything related to COVID and how the camp handled it? My kid was one of the two kids wearing masks, there were no other precautions and nobody wore a mask
